Strikes in Italy

There is a public transport sciopero which started 21:00 last night and will finish at the same time tonight. Italy however can be quite sensible at times as they are not allowed to cancel ALL trains, especially the national and international ones...therefore my guests can still get from Rome to Naples, or Florence or where ever they want to go today as long as they have a little (or a lot) of patience and flexibility.

I am very happy there is a strike! I do not have to go into the centre as I CANNOT...poor me. If the customers call to see me I have to say 'Sorry...there is a strike, outside of my control. I cannot get to you."

Rather bel ragazzo and I plan to take a lovely stroll around San Paolo Basilica with the knowledge that we cannot go far from home today.

I had no idea there was a strike this morning and waited 20 minutes for a bus i an ipod trance before realising not a single one had passed me and that- even for rome- that was a little odd. Grr.
