Heat wave grips Victoria

I just got back from a fantastic long weekend at the beach, and must say I was glad to be out of Melbourne.

Whilst I was enjoying a fresh sea breeze in Rosebud, parts of Victoria were in the midst of a record heatwave with 3 days reaching over 43 degrees. The city has not seen weather like this since the 1880s. Over 300 rail services had been cancelled, about 35,000 people were without electricity, reports say over 30 people have died and there are wild bush fires raging through the state. Not to mention the roof debate with the Ford Australian Open...

The weather is going mad. I heard of the news that in London they had 20cms of snow! As long as you are close to the sea, I'll take the heat over the cold any day...or would I?

My goodness it's hot there! We are freezing our butts off in Toronto. If you have any way to send some of the hot weather here (even just a few degrees) we would gladly take it :P I'm not sure what's worse...too cold or too hot!

Hi Lulu,
Poor thing freezing while I am sweating it out over here. if one we can find a happy medium :)

I'd prefer a happy medium too but right now being an ice cube in Canada-- well--a little heat would be nice.

I hope that the long cold spell we are having in Europe isn't indicative of a hot summer to come. I was getting used to the mild summers we've had lately.

The water in Rosebud must be warmish with the hot spell downunder.

Hi Ms Violetta,
I can just imagine how cold you are over there...ohhh..that is a good way to cool me down - just think of you all freezing!

Hi Scintilla,
The water was hot like a bath the other day. So hot that it was not that refreshing and you had to walk out really far to get some luke warm water.

Hi BC,
Yeah...thanks global warming!
