Efficient staff at the comune - no it's true!

Earlier this year, when I was getting my residency sorted in Malito I thought I'd hit a hurdle when they asked for a copy of my birth certificate. In the end they only needed it if I wanted to get married or vote in a hurry...neither which I am in a rush to do.

After annoying my family in Australia since I could not remember where I had left it, my aunt finally found the birth certificate at her house as I think I asked her to keep it safe for me since I always lose things. She sent it over via registered post, and when bel ragazzo was in Malito last week I asked him to take it to the comune. I was so happy as finally they would have all the correct documentation.

Turns out they did need a copy of the birth certificate but that I needn't have worried myself with trying to find it. Once again in a very odd, efficient fashion the comune of Malito had liaised with the Australian embassy and already had gotten hold of a copy of my birth certificate!
